Pinterest tries: Home-made lip balm

Hey girls, I hope you're all well.

Today I have a Pinterest try for you all. I did this a few weeks ago, but really wanted to test it out for you all before writing this.

It is a home-made lip balm.

What you need:
A tub, Petroleum jelly/Vaseline, Aloe Vera (I couldn't find pure Aloe Vera so I used after-sun with Aloe Vera) and a stick to mix it with

What to do:

Add a blob of Aloe Vera

Then add a blob of petroleum jelly

Mix mix mix

Then I found it was to watery so I refrigerated it for about 24 hours.

Then you're free to use it as often as you would use any other lip balm.

My thoughts:
I did not like this, I found it very drying on my lips. However that could be because Vaseline always does that to my lips, so I don't use that. Maybe if it wasn't for the Vaseline it might have been great for me, especially in the summer with the Aloe Vera, which I did find was very soothing for my lips after being in the sun. I do recommend trying it out though, you never know, it might work brilliantly for you, it was just a pity that it didn't do that for me.

Have you tried this? Let me know if it worked for you.

Kim's book corner catch-up

Hey girls, I hope you're all well.

Today I thought I would do a quick catch-up of my videos from my YouTube channel. And don't worry there aren't many.

The first one is The Supper Club
And the second is The Other Side of the Story.

I want to apologise for the fact that these videos are linked rather than embedded, for some reason Blogger won't recognise my YouTube channel. Hopefully it'll be fixed soon.

New Years Resolutions update | April 2013

Hey girls, I hope you're all well.

Today I am going to give you a little update on my New Years Resolutions! So let's get started.

My resolutions:

  1. Be healthier.
  2. Be more eco-friendly.
  3. Take more pictures.
  4. Get a job, then move out of my parents house.
  5. Organise my time better.
How I'm getting on:

  1. I am getting so good at this! I workout almost everyday, except when I'm feeling sick or I'm super busy, and I eat a pretty clean diet, with the odd treat every few days or so. I love eating healthy now so sometimes I don't even need the treat, and I've always loved to exercise so this hasn't really been a problem for me. My problem was definitely the food, but I'm improving so much on this! :D
  2. I'm trying I really am, it's just difficult when you live with a family that don't really care. I'm thinking of starting to grow my own fruits and vegetables, but I'm trying to workout how best to do it, whether in a window box, or a mini greenhouse. I'll work it out and let you all know.
  3. I'm trying so hard to do this, but it's not working so well. I get self-concious taking pictures, but maybe this month I can stop that, or at least work on it.
  4. I'm applying for jobs, but to no avail right now. I have exams over the next couple of weeks, so job applying is taking a slight back seat but I'm hoping to get one by September at the latest. Not so sure about the moving out bit though
  5. I feel like I have a routine pretty much down for this. I get up early to  workout, either running or pilates, then I'll do some uni work for a couple of hours, then shower and do anything else that I have to do that day. Obviously it doesn't always work like that, because I am only human after all, but that's what I try to do anyway.
That is it. I'm improving slowly. I think it's important to remember that it's okay to slip up sometimes, it doesn't mean you've failed, just take it one day at a time.

April empties

Hey girls, I hope you're all well.

So me blogging everyday didn't quite happen, did it? I'm so sorry about that, the days just seemed to get away from me, and I forgot to blog. But this month I am going to try my hardest to stick to a scheduale of blogging every Monday, Wednesday, and either Friday or Saturday, and I'm even going to write out a few posts today so they are ready for you all.
This post is late because I've been having major internet issues, particularly with the blog, so I am very sorry about that.

But today, I want to share with you all my empties of the month.

Neutrogena blackhead removing toner, tealights, Yankee candle in wild passion fruit, Blistex, and Vanilla milk body lotion.

My thoughts on each product:
Neutrogena blackhead removing toner: This is amazing! I think I've mentioned this before in an empties post, so I won't go into too much detail. I have gone through about 5 or 6 bottles of this now, and it really has helped with my blackheads and pimples. However I think it may be getting discontinued because it is getting increasingly more difficult to find in stores, so I'm trying the spot control one right now, and you'll get a review on that when I finish it up.
Tealights: What can I say? They are tealights, nothing special about them, they aren't scented but they burn for hours!
Yankee candle in Wild Passion Fruit: OhMyWord this smells amazing! It's kind of spicy and sharp and boy is it amazing! I think I'll have to buy the full size of this because I love it!
Blistex: Blistex it Blistex really, rather bland but really helps to heal chapped lips. I've been suffering chapped lips a lot throughout this past winter, and have found that this is great at healing and preventing them. I use it morning and night right after brushing my teeth. It may be bland but it most definitely works
Vanilla milk body lotion by Sugar Pop: This smells divine! I love vanilla scents on my body and this is perfect. It lingers all day, I couldn't stop smelling my arm when I was wearing it. So amazing!

That's it for this month. Again I am terribly sorry that this is so late. I'm going to try and write a few more posts tonight for you all.

my pamper night

Hey girls, I hope you're all well.

I tried posting this last night, but for some reason my internet wasn't working. But anyway today I want to share with you all my idea of the perfect pamper night.

Firsts things first, I always light a candle, scented candles are just so relaxing, so I do this most nights, but think it's perfect to do on pamper nights especially.

I then pour a bath, and whilst it is,filling up, I remove any nail polish. I do this before my bath because I can then just soak my hands in the bath and push my cuticles back when I get out.

Once I've done that I soak in the bath with whatever book I'm reading. I also shave my legs in the bath and have a good exfoliation.

Don't forget to apply your lotion, you don't want your skin to dry out. The one I'm currently using is Vanilla Milk from the Sugar Pop set I got for Christmas.

I then give myself a pedicure. I use a pumice stone before soaking, then rest my feet in warm water for 15_20 minutes. Whilst doing that I like to apply my base coat on my fingernails, giving it plenty of time to dry. after drying my feet thoroughly I apply a thick later of foot cream and my fuzzy socks.

I then give myself a facial, which I have an entire post on here.

Whilst my face mask is on I paint my nails the colour I'm wearing is London, which was limited edition.

After all of that I snuggle up in bed and either watch a movie or read my book.

And that's it, that is my pamper night routine. What do you do on your pamper nights? Let me know.

British Rambles: Catch-up and Currently

Hey girls, I hope you're all well.

Oops, I missed 2 days, but only because I was so tired over the weekend, and just wanted to sleep. On Saturday it was a beautiful day, but I didn't really do much, except go for a wander around Homebase because my Mum is wanting to decorate the house, and I love looking at that stuff, and I was sick. I wanted to go to a farm, but we didn't really get to go, but that's ok, maybe I'll go next weekend.
The weather wasn't as good on Sunday so I stayed in bed catching up on Neighbours, and eating popcorn and sweets, I regretted it this morning though because I woke up wanting to throw up, which is not nice haha.
And today I went into town with my Mum and brother, I didn't get much, but I did manage to find Harry Potter Book of Spells for £10 in CEX then the motion/move starter pack for £25, so that was a bargain! I'm so excited to play it, but I'd already decided to have a Revenge catch-up tonight, which is what I'm doing right now. I am so so happy I managed to get it so cheap, because it was over £100 when it first came out, which is just ridiculous!

I just thought I would let you know I am doing currently:

Listening to: Revenge

Eating: Nothing right now but I just finished a scrambled egg sandwich and an apple

Drinking: Water

Wearing: A plaid shirt and light wash jeans

Feeling: Still a little bit sick after all the sugar yesterday

Weather: Breazy. It's 6 degrees which, considering the weather we've been having recently, is nice

Wanting: To be caught up on Revenge, I can't believe I am so far behind (4 weeks! D:)

Needing: To make a start on an assignment I have due in at the end of the month, but I work better under pressure

Thinking: How bad it is that I leave things until the last minute

Enjoying: Writing this post

Well that's it for today, I hope you enjoyed this post.

TAG: The 10 day 'You' challenge.

Hey girls, I hope you're all well.

I didn't really know what to write today, and then I remembered that I started the 10 day 'you' challenge, but for some reason only did the first one. So that is what I am going to do right now.

Here are my nine loves:

  1. Jesus. I'm not going to go into this, you all know about this. If you do want any information just ask and I'll happily answer any questions :)
  2. Harry Potter. Again every one knows how much I love Harry Potter, I even have a tattoo!
  3. YouTube. I think I am always watching YouTube videos, which is probably a huge problem, but oh well. If you have a YouTube channel leave it in the comments, I'll subscribe :)
  4. Reading. I think you all probably know that I love reading, I mean I do book reviews quite regularly haha.
  5. Quotes. Another thing you all know I love, I love reading inspirational quotes, it just brightens up my day
  6. Lazy days. I enjoy days where I just stay in my pyjamas, no make-up on, and just watching TV or movies or just reading. I think it's good to do that once in a while, but I probably do it more often than I should.
  7. The sky. I know that this is a really weird love, and I could do an entire post on this, but I'm not so I'm just going to say that I love just looking at the sky, I think it always looks so beautiful, even on stormy days or at night
  8. My bed. Lets face it who doesn't love their bed?
  9. And a cheesy one to finish - my family. I have the most supportive parents ever, and I love them to pieces (even if they do annoy me sometimes :-P)
Sorry these aren't in depth loves, I didn't want to make it too serious, but these are my loves, as I thought of them (minus the family one, I deliberately left it until last).

I hope you enjoyed this post.
